style & philosophy
My practice has taken me from New York to Costa Rica to Hawaii and back down to Richmond, Virginia; all of which have uniquely influenced my style and desire to share yoga as a form of self-expression for all bodies of all levels.
Creative. Expressive. Intuitive. Emphasis on music to inspire movement, with meditation woven in.

"When I decided to start yoga I had no clue what was involved or if I would like it, I just knew that after years of running my body through the grinder I needed something that would engage my mind while allowing me to regain and improve my flexibility, endurance, balance, and strength. From the first class with Allison, I was hooked. Allison's teaching methodology is truly engaging of the mind and body. Her teachings allow any one from a beginner to the most experienced, the opportunity to learn and expand. Her classes are always full, and while they are full I feel there is a personal connection between her and every single student. I leave every class feeling like I have grown in my practice. While she offers challenges for the body, she emphasizes and teaches that we should all listen to what our body is telling us and she offers variations in her flow and poses to accommodate everyone. Allison has provided an environment in her class where I leave feeling physically and mentally healthier. I look forward to her classes and growing in my practice, and I actually feel upset if I have to miss one, because I know the true value of what I am missing. I have lost weight, I have become stronger, and I have become more self aware of what my mind and body are capable of. Looking back, I find myself wishing that I had found yoga earlier, and a large part of that is because of what I have been taught and what I have accomplished through Allison's classes. I look forward to continued growth, and no matter what life has to throw at me I can lean on Allison's saying of "your yoga practice will always be there for you to come back to." - Lawrence M.
