NYC Locale

I've had my eye on paying a visit to The Met Museum's Rooftop Garden for quite sometime, but it looks like this weekend's weather is begging for a pit stop. Panoramic views, lush green grass and lounging with an iced coffee or cocktail in hand sounds pretty lovely to me. Get there early before the crowds hit and then make your way to Central Park for a picnic or to soak up some rays. Alternatively, swing by when the martini bar opens at 5:30 to kick off your evening on a high note.

Looking for something a little different? Kindy nerdy but also equally as awesome? Do a little bit of stargazing on the High Line every Tuesday evening from now through October. Give your eyes a break from the routine skyscraper-gazing while taking advantage of the gorgeous evening weather during these upcoming summer months. Take a friend or loved one and stick around for a glass or two of wine at Terroir At The Porch and then grab yourself a people's pop and call it an evening well spent.

Emma Stone & Andrew Garfield for the win. These two (as any celeb couple would expect) knew that they'd run into paparazzi and were smart about it. As they left Cafe Cluny in the West Village on Tuesday, they held signs in front of their faces that read: (Emma's card)"Good morning! We were eating and saw a group of guys with cameras outside. And so we thought, let's try this again. We don't need the attention, but these wonderful organizations do --->" (Andrew's Card) " (and don't forget), Here's to the stuff that matters. Have a great day!" A little cheesy, but also very cute.

And speaking of Cafe Cluny, a few other cozy & delicious brunch spots in the West Village include: Joseph Leonard (for their avocado toast & monkey bread), Extra Virgin (for quiet outdoor seating and people watching), and August (for beautiful garden dining).

Mellow Yellows

Outshine the summer sun with these brilliant yellow finds.

Sunpocket Foldable Electric Lemon Sunglasses, clearly influenced by surf & ski cultures, but neat-o nonetheless.

Lemon Drop Earrings that draw inspiration from vintage markets and perfect as a generous gift or for yourself for special summer occasions. A less expensive option are these beautiful Maluku Posts for a tropical punch, crafted by Deepa Gurnani who began her fashion career beading for designers like Alexander McQueen.

Decorating a new home or apartment? Consider brightening your space with these Marrakech Curtains which take inspiration from traditional Moroccan architecture. It will transform your room into a warm and inviting space to come home to or to welcome guests into.

Lemon Daisy Heels to pair with an airy summer dress or these leather Pantego stretchy-strap sandals for more casual summer excursions. Always nice to look down at your feet to find a nice bright pop of color.

Clearly, Anthropologie really knows how to bring it all together.

What I'm Making

Maybe not this week, or even this month, but more like my hit list of recipes that I am really tempted to try this summer. Perhaps you will be, too.

Tortilla Chip-Crusted Tempeh Tacos with Avocado Cream. This is the taco that I never knew that I wish existed. And now, it does. "Crunchy tortilla chip-crusted tempeh, super smooth avocado cashew cream, and a zesty red cabbage slaw come together in these high protein, vegan and gluten free tacos." Now that is one sexy taco.

Creamy Avocado, Artichoke & Kale Dip. Again with the avocados (!!!). If you're looking for a delicious spin on homemade guacamole with minimal ingredients, this is your answer. Serve with blue corn tortilla chips, pita chips, and sliced veggies.

Quinoa Chia Freezer Bars. Genius, really. A delicious summer melt-in-your-mouth snack bar or dessert that combines puffed quinoa, coconut oil, almond butter, chia seeds, agave and vanilla extract. So simple!

Happy Thursday and have a wonderful summer solstice this weekend!
