The awareness should extend beyond today and there are several easy breezy ways to live a greener lifestyle - from the foods that we eat to the products that we use on a daily basis. Better yet, you can "celebrate" just by exposing yourself to nature and getting outdoors for some fresh air.
Now first of all, remember those dirt cups you had growing up? The ones with oreo crumbles and gummy worms? Well, there's a grown up version that still contains those childhood chocolate-like cookie crumbles, however this fancy kind is topped with edible flowers. As an alternative to the cream cheese, I suggest layering with a cashew based cream for a nutrient dense and satisfying treat.
With the warmer weather beginning to show its face, dust off your patio furniture and invite company over for some cocktails, particularly these cucumber coolers with an unexpcted ingredient - peas! Give peas a chance with this one.
Better yet, extend your happy hour and invite your guests to stay for dinner with a very green-inspired menu, from a brussels sprouts salad to basil pesto pasta and green tea ice cream.
You can also get your green fix by increasing your chlorophyll intake with leafy green veggies and adding toxin eliminators like cilantro, parsley and mint to your morning smoothies.
Last, but certainly not least, put some spring into your step and go for a walk or roll out you yoga mat in the company of some lovely tunes - heartbeats of spring, as I like to call them.
