International Women's Day | Women In Wellness
In celebration of International Women's Day, we're celebrating some of the women in wellness that we admire most. Artists, creatives, herbalists, floral designers and everything in between. These women have shaped me, in some way, over the past year. From hormonal advice to simplifying my skincare routine with ingredients that I don't have to think twice about, here's to celebrating the women that have put their passions and talents to good use for the betterment of our society, day in and day out.
Alison Wu | Wu Haus
This gem from the Pacific Northwest first caught my attention with her photogenic creations, which completely speak for themselves. Her lifestyle is crafted with a beautifully holistic approach, and she'll always keep you guessing as to what creation she'll dream up next. Smoothie Queen if I've ever seen one.
Alison's advice to women all over:
Support one another. Stand up for one another. Be good to one another. It's so important for us women to be there for each other, to help one another be successful and to lift each other up.
Amanda Chantal Bacon | Moon Juice
From the moment that I first walked into Amanda's Venice location, I knew that I was in for something special. She has quite a knack for weaving creativity into every single one of Moon Juice's unbelievably genius offerings. This past year alone, she opened a gorgeous new location on Melrose Place, sprinkled her line of moon dusts into hundreds of wellness boutiques and launched a cookbook that is bound to make you weak in the knees from its utter beauty. The strawberry rose geranium jam...you must.
Thank you, Amanda, for sharing your gift of wellness with this insatiably health-curious community.

Bee Ham | H Is For Love
The beauty that is Bee! Her lovely line of skincare products uphold the notion that nature is enough. Her ingredients are of the highest quality, and she believes in honoring our bodies both by what we put into our bodies as well as what we put on, giving our skin the proper nourishment that only unrefined, organic, luxuriously natural skincare can provide. Bee has helped me to dramatically simplify my skincare routine, and proof of that was my annual trip to Costa Rica when sun + sand + ocean + her POLLEN Mist had my skin glowing beyond anything I had witnessed before. Indeed, nature is enough.
Bee's advice to women all over:
No matter what a day is like in the life of a woman, she needs time to do the thing she loves. If that's 5 minutes of reading, prayer, exercise, silence, weaving, painting, yoga, it doesn't matter. The soul soars when it's fed, and gratitude can grow there. To me, gratitude is the key to contentment.
Want to experience the magic of H on your skin? Go for the H Trial Kit, or just give yourself permission to indulge in PROPOLIS Regenerative Face Mask. And be sure to dig into my conversation with her over a morning matcha and mask.
Kate McCabe | Solful Health
This South Florida gal will help make your soul shine from the inside out. Nutritionist, yoga teacher, plant-based chef, herbalist, and wellness expert, Kate believes that inner radiance begins with a foundation deeply rooted in all things wholesome, balanced, and beautiful. Her recipes make the journey towards healthy living warm and accessible, and I love her transparent, no-bullshit approach. Naturally, we connected on Instagram and have had a lovingly supportive conversation over email ever since. Don't be surprised if you find us leading a workshop or retreat together in the near future. How lucky are we to live in a world that allows for like-minded women to connect more easily!
Kate's advice to women all over:
Be deeply, boldly, and unapologetically confident in everything you are and do. Confidence is the key that will open doors for you in your life, career, relationships, and (most importantly) within yourself.
Lacy Phillips | Free + Native
Lacy is an herbalist and Manifestation Guide based in Los Angeles who instantly caught my attention with her dear words of wisdom, genuine spirit and overall grounding nature. In fact, it was her personal hormone checklist that had me at hello during a time when I was looking for guidance in managing hormonal woes. From recipes and lifestyle guides to intuition and manifestation lists, Lacy maintains the integrity of a contemporary, holistic lifestyle that is both warm and approachable.
In addition to her personal hormone checklist, it may be worth your while to check out Native Week for weekly updates on topics from tailored straight jeans to zero waste safe sex.
Liz Smithers | Eli Keaton
I have never felt something so deep in my bones like the passionate force this woman brings to the world. Her entire essence is rooted in plant chemistry and high-vibrational living, sprinkling her wisdom and radiant beauty all over this world. She recently launched a line of bio-available butters that is bound to blow your mind. Whatever liquid gold she's drinking, give me some. Her journey is certainly one to watch, as she continues to make waves on the beautiful island of Kauai that can be felt way beyond.
Liz's advice to women all over:
Society is the ego's parallel and whether subliminally or not, can channel a lukewarm existence into our realities. This presses us to wake our bodies, minds, and consciousness up every day just like we get up to go to work. Something really big is happening within collective consciousness, and although in some cases it may feel like a plague of degeneration from an administrative and human health standpoint, momma nature has our back. Seriously, don't worry. We are developing an entirely new sense of deep knowing and this sixth sense will surely moisturize our connection to the earth again. We hear, smell, see, touch, taste, and now know. Take away everything that is associated with a lukewarm existence and don't miss the boat.
Liza Lubell | Peartree Flowers
The pura vida peartree queen that she is, this lovely dreamer / doer has a beautiful vision (and aesthetic eye) that is so intricately woven into everything she creates. She opened my eyes to the playfulness and therapeutic art that is flower arranging during her signature retreat in Nosara, Costa Rica. Mutually, our second home, where our sweet friendship was born. Beyond the eye candy that is her floral creations, she is someone that you could spend hours conversing with in the Playa Guiones tide pools. Really, you should try it.
Thank you, Liza, for sharing your beauty and fierce ideals with the rest of the women in this world. More souls like you, please.
Mimi Millard | De Lune
The woman that makes moon time easier, naturally. Mimi is a new connection in my life, thanks to the power of this like-minded community and the introduction to her menstruation tonic, De Lune. My hope for menstrual tonics replacing plastic bottles of coke zero is alive and well thanks to her loving intention to bring pain-free relief to women on their periods. Alternative solutions that address the cause of pain, not just the symptoms. Thank you, Mimi. Thank you.
Mimi's advice to women all over:
Don’t compare yourself to anyone else - man, woman, or otherwise. Don’t compare yourself to someone else’s ideal of what you should be. Compare yourself to the most powerful, gracious, creative being that your imagination can conjure, and then work every day at becoming Her.
Nitsa Citrine | Sun Potion
From pine pollen white dragon matchas to reishi he shou wu tonics, this artist and creative exudes feminine energy in a potently beautiful way. We all have those women that we don't know personally, but admire for what they share, and how that leaves a lasting impression on us. Most recently, she -- along with Tasya van Ree -- launched Women With Superpowers, a celebration of the feminine as artist, activist and healer. She is simply incredible, and if you're lucky enough, would likely blend up the best damn adaptogenic tonic around, just for you.
